It took longer than I’d hoped to arrive, so if you’re impatient like me, you might want to plan ahead and order well before you need it. That said, once it showed up, I was excited to dig in.

How It Works (and How I Use It)

Chinese Lipstick Paper is a bit of a learning curve. Essentially, it’s a thin sheet of pigmented paper that you apply to your lips to transfer the colour. There are tons of opinions out there on the “right” way to use it—some recommend licking your lips and pressing them onto the paper, others suggest wetting it with micellar water or regular tap water before applying. My daughters, on the other hand, aren’t fans—they think I look “weird” with it on, but I chalk that up to me rarely wearing lipstick.
