Is there anything I can do to improve my lifestyle to stop sweating at night?

There are, indeed! Eat smaller meals at least two to three hours before going to bed. This means that once you fall asleep, your digestive system won’t be working, giving your body more time to rest.

A great way to beat the night sweats is to avoid spicy foods and caffeine at night. Caffeine is a stimulant that can make your heart rate faster, raise your blood pressure, and make your sweat glands work harder.

When should I worry about having night sweats?

It’s time to see a doctor if your night sweats get so bad that you start to feel tired during the day because you woke up sweating. If you have been sweating on a regular basis for at least two weeks with no improvement, you should consider booking and papointment.

Can stress cause night sweating?

It can, yes. Stress is a hormonal issue that can cause sweating, whether it’s from anxiety or stress due to frequent bad dreams. Yoga and meditation before bedtime are great ways to reduce stress and calm the mind; however, if stress continues, seek professional assistance.
